THE ANC’s MISUSE OF MONEY: Does The Party Care More About Expensive Cars and Bashes Than The People That Put Them In Power?
There are many disputes about the African National Congress (ANC) and the way they utilise their funds. Residents from rutal areas are displeased and complaining about their living conditions and children’s education. According to a research done by The Committee of Inquiry into a Comprehensive Social Security System of South Africa, between 45 and 55% of all South Africans are living in poverty. However, their social grants that are provided from the government, and unfortunately it is not enough to sustain a life efficiently.

The ANC however can accommodate guests at a bash that had to cost R12 million on hosting foreign guests at the ANC’s recent 100 year celebrations. What is really surprising is the amount of guests that were there – there were 50 heads of state and governments, 9 dignitaries with their delegations at the ANC bash. http://news24.com/SouthAfrica/politics
During the campaigning for the elections in the year 2008, the ANC promised to provide better living arrangements and reduce the element of poverty in South Africa, due to these expensive bashes and parties that the party makes, they could utilise the funds in building and improving:
·         Houses for the people living in poverty
·         Increasing the social grants monthly payment
·         Educational facilities in rural areas
·         Access to free basic services such as water, sanitation and electricity
·         Providing free and good primary health care
·         Ensuring access to adequate and affordable public transport

The government cannot live on just enough; they want to live on way more than they can have hence corruption, illegal tenders and looting are taking place within the government. The name of the ANC is depreciating faster and faster and this is being brought among them.
Some of President Jacob Zuma’s opponents within the ANC spent the weeks leading up to the M&G’s Anti-Zuma campaigns that has suggested that Motlanthe should challenge the President, at first he was reluctant but now is prepared to contest the position of presidency http://mg.co.za/article/2012-03-02-antizuma-forces-regroup

After this successes, will Motlanthe be able to perk up the name of the ANC? Will the deception of the political party come to an end?
